| having lost to mvc and taking one map from ek, we find ourselves in 5th place in div2b for the second season in a row.
having lost to mvc by only 24 frags over two maps, (85-90 on osp6), and barely losing cpm4 to ek, it's kinda disgusting that we have so few points, considering these two teams are easily the best in our division. yet again we started the season badly, losing to a beatable ug* over 2 maps, and letting both nv and ql take a point off us when they shouldn't have. it's easy to add up the points now of course, and do a "woulda coulda shoulda" on it, but it's annoying to drop such vital points early in the season, only to find that we pick up form later on when it's too late. to be honest, on our connections there was very little we could do, our trademark spike-ridden 50 pings are no match for european cable and dsl, and in the end of the day, as most people will point out, when you have two reasonably equal teams, it's gonna come down to ping. i should also point out that the ek team we beat on dm6 and barely lost to on cpm4 was a significantly weaker ek team than usual, missing carn and sd, which resulted in them having to play an isdn-ed z3on and berk. that said, the lads played well, (bunny, jay, ser, koopa on both maps), especially ser who showed his l33tness in quake3 hasn't suffered too much from the fact that he hasn't played.
like i have said before, there isn't a huge amount we can do on connections like our own, but we will definitely go into 2b next season as strongly as we intend to finish it. we are handicapped enough with connections (or lack of), without letting early season laziness cost us points aswell.
btw, i have added the more recent version of our loc files to this site, you can get them here. they are colour coded and more detailed than the standard ones, with extra positions missing from the original ones, such as the red armor rl and the downstairs ya on dm14 etc.
