| been ages since an update so i said i better throw something up. we are finished up with clanbase for this season now, and entering our third (yes, third) barrysworld tdm in a few weeks. not bad for the world's most inactive clan eh? clanbase was an easy run this time round, we got placed in group c of the second league, which if i'm reading it correctly would be division 11 out of 16, assuming they are ranked like that. afaik we have finished top, despite the fact that aos are listed in there ahead of us, we (should) have a better frag difference than them. speaking of that bunch of fucking rats, they are the reason we have a loss listed at all, forcing a default map win instead of having a little bit of patience with one of the lads who was having trouble connecting. that said, i suppose we should be more than aware at this stage of the habits of the net nerds, and how they will stick their little knives in your back at any opportunity rather than just playing the fucking game for the fun that it's supposed to be. of all the teams we played in it, jac seemed to be the soundest bunch of lads, who considering they played and lost 5 matches without winning a single map, were very friendly and didn't start any "oh lol" bullshit for the entire match.
so, how long is quake3 out now, and nd still dont have a proper online team. we still live in the vain hope of dsl coming in so we could have a connection at home. i mean fair enough, we could get on isdn if we were that desperate, but that's not really that feasible either, seeing as the likes of me and jay etc aren't ever living in the one house long enough to justify it. sometimes i want to grab the other team by the hair and slap their heads of their desks and tell them "look you useless cunts, you and your muppet team play every single night of the week, you have played this map at least a couple of hundred times, and you still can't win against a bunch of 2-hour-a-week players, you are fucking shite". i hate to say it, but a small factor in me taking the job i am currently in was the fact that there was a 150meg pipe coming out of here. little did i know the disgusting pl that would also be involved in it, i mean it wasn't always like this, as anyone from the old irish quake3 team will remember, we used to have a perfectly acceptable ping from ul. now even playing against muppets, you can pull out a shaft on a spawner, and empty it into him before he dies. some lol. so we plug away against the (odds) ping, and get replies after a well earned win like "gg nd!next time i wont test a new cfg while playing  "
ah, so that's how we won the game, and there i was thinking we were bitchslapping the shit out of them because we were better. things are looking a bit better i suppose, the addition of superchris last season in barrysworld definitely changed things for the better, anyone who knows ser knows he's a fuckin savage, and with a solid ping he's a serious help in the leagues. if himself and sam had the interest in q3 that they have in qw now, we'd be "lol-ling" our way to division 1. that said, i think it's time we won div2b this season, with our archenemies/cybern8z ek moved up to divion 1, we should win the div unless we totally act the bollocks.
team.ie, back again for the cb nations cup, a nice little win over estonia the other night puts us through to the main league. the addition of anarchy to the squad makes a lot of difference i think, himself and ser will work very well together, they kinda play the same "position" in a tdm game. watching the demos the other night, koopa and vin also played excellently, considering their cluck ping, i mean we have a lot of work and praccy to do, but hopefully we can make a decent go of it.
other than that, nothing new really. i'd like to see some form of irish league running, it's a pity we have so few clans. there are so many people who would play only for lack of connections, then are those with connections who could play but couldn't be arsed making any kind of clan. maybe if this esat dsl does actually come in, we'll a lot more active irish players. but they won't. some lol.
