| it was my first time attending an i series lan, and i was fairly impressed, the scale, the organisation etc.. it was a lot better then any lan event i've been at previously ... also it had the fun factor, whereas cpl type events can seem rather serious in comparison - it's all about the venue really, newbury race course has to be possibly one of the best places you could hold a lan in the country so it was the perfect place for it all. i'll be booking my ticket in advance for i9 anyway
a lot of the bio crew were there : canny, liquid, lsd and a load of other quake2 lads down as bio, all sound people, was cool... even without my own pc i managed to get a load of games in thanks to the generosity of liquid and l-s-d who let me whore their systems for hours on end.
i managed to get in loads and loads of clan arena, a few tdm games (one very cool 3v3 vs fey), 2 rocket arena clan games and a cs clan game (lol) and plenty of q2. so there was loads of gaming, and a good laff to be had. i'm kicking myself that i didn't bring my own machine because i coulda playedddd sooooo much
then it was off to the playing fields on tuesday to play a few clan games and experience the net from an slpb pov. and well... i felt like never going back on isdn again after it - the difference is just so massive.
myself and simo intended on turning up, going in having a few drinks.... hopefully playing a bit of ca and then going online for the match... but to our suprise jonjay and dan who are based in london were there waiting for us, which was cool because we had 4 on a literally lan connection. we went on to play tons of games vs conquerors, deegrroller, demonic core and mistermen... it was so cool playing clan games on a 15-30 ping and the highlight of the evening for me anyway was when we beat dc on dm7 after coming back from being 30 frags down... all in all a seriously fun 5 days .
