| wow, two column updates in a week, strange enough, but then again, there is a lot happening atm in irish quake, somehow, what with all the team.ie stuff and barrysworld/clanbase/jolt leagues etc. in our own neck of the woods, it was quiet this week, with a postponement against fs due to irish ctf and tdm being on. we face an apparently weak eb next week on dm14tmp(yayy) and osp5(boo), and our new member z3on gets to strut his stuff while we open a can of whoopass on them. there is no excuse for nd not winning div 2b this season, and despite pretty tame previews/expectations, we are all out to win everything we can from now on.
the last few weeks, i feel the team has gotten twice as good, and am very confident of next monday's game against ta in the clanbase opencup. in fact, we have yet to meet a team in this "2nd league" that we have been impressed by. of course, that could all change, and we could get slapped next week, but i dont think so. we were lucky in that, with jay going to the states for 6 weeks, and bunny moving home to his modem, that nicky arrived back in college rearing to go. where we used to come into the office maybe once a week when leagues werent on, and twice a week when they were, we have been in a lot more recently, and will keep it like that until barrysworld is over. the one team who are supposed to be v good in our div are un, who used to be called mvc. they beat us last season but we were sickened that they did, won by less than 20 frags altogether over two maps, we'll be out for revenge this time round.
lan this weekend, gonna be great crack, lots of wars and lots of beer, lots of fh getting slapped around in q3. the thing i like about these is that the two teams, (nd and fh), are serious war players when we sit down to play, and after 10 wars in a row, you find that you are refining the little things you normally don't get to because of not playin enuff etc. we can use it to practise starts etc aswell, and being able to talk to your team is deadly aswell. we dont use rw or ts, i spose we should, its well cool on lan when we are talkin, it brings the game to a new level for both teams, when you can talk about the "guy with the shotgun who picked up ra but i got a rail on him and hes gone down towards battlesuit".
in other news, i hate my fucking job and want to leave it, if i could find another i'd be gone in a second. i was told recently, that my office (100mbit switched) is plugged into the ul 155mbit pipe through a fucking 10meg hub in a lab upstairs, because it was "the easiest way to do it" at the time. it might just be me, but i think that accounts for an awful lot of my ul connection problems, in fact i'm certain of it. there isnt anything i can do to change it really, but what it does mean, is that the irish tdm and ctf teams can play out of the other building in ul next weekend against their repective teams. i'd say this w/e, there is no excuse for ireland to be fielding an isdner for any game, assuming the connection is ok.
i had a really fucked up dream last night that i was knifed, but that they cut my face wide open from my ear to my mouth. was very gross and very painful, til i woke up and realised i had to go to work. then tried to fall back asleep into the "so i got knifed" dream. i think it's time i up and r-u-n-n-o-f-t.
