well, a new bwq3dml season is fast approaching, and my clan hatstand are starting to blow away the autumn cobwebs in preparation for another run at the division 2a title. membership has taken a few knocks, but we've regained some old faces so it all balances in the end, just have to hope we don't get cheated out of our chance at the higher realms this time around. we've got a new webby, a new tdm captain (drexciyian) and a new outlook, no more the irritable hatstand of old, we're trying the "be nice or be silent" approach. i don't honestly know at what point we picked up whatever reputation we currently have (tbh nobody has ever made it clear to me what that reputation is anyway), but we hope to shake it off and regain some of the honour and patience that we seem to have left behind somewhere in our humble beginnings. long may it last, say i.

in other news, i've managed to get myself the job of uk captain for the quake3 urban terror nationals competition to be hosted by clanbase sometime between christmas and spring 2002. well whenever it comes to fruition, i'm the guy with the whip for the moment. from what i've seen, the uk has a high standard of q3ut players, haven't heard much of it in ireland, i assume it was swallowed by the counterstrike monster a long time ago still, depending on what happens and if there is any support for the mod in ireland, i'm happy to recommend an ireland team be created (mindphuck won't captain it, q3ut is "too slow" for him , or to turn my uk side into uk+ireland (i'm never certain of the politicalities of that, but i'm sure ppl will correct me if i'm making a fool of meself).

anyway, thats for the future, for now its all systems go for the upcoming barrysworld leagues, including the bwq3utl which took off this thursday (i play for ukv for future reference).

good luck to all the clans enterring the bwq3ctfl/bwq3dml for season 7 (except maybe bio for ctf div2a, unless we can make it an irish dominated division eh

(oh, and also for future reference, i apparently have post viral chronic fatigue syndrome. nice catchall term that.)

Probably from that Empedocles bloke, never seen such unwarranted abuse in a q3pickup just because he was fragged by someone :/

afaik there has never been much interest in Q3 UT by the active q3 community in ireland, but it comes mainly from the CS community where a few scattered players are interested in it. I played a bit myself in USA only because UT servers gave me the best ping (ping of 15). Its possible that you could scrape up a UT team out of the hundreds of CS players in ireland, but the problem is inactivity and lack of experience/skill. Unless you could field a team made up of the likes of Koopa and quozl cs+q3 mastas i'd say any irish team would be raped. I'd guess there are no Irish people at all involved in the BWQ3UTL... in which case a national team probably wouldn't be worth it since theres no interest

but then again there could be an active Q3UT scene in ireland that I don't know about
