merry christmas!

well the nations cups came to an end for team.ie on sunday and while it was a fairly disappointing end, i don't think they're can be too many complaints, and it was damn good fun!

the tdm never kinda had much of a chance to bloom to its full potential mainly due to having to play on utterly dire connects, a few practices vs uk, put most people off, my uk isdn had trouble staying under 200 in them so i feel for the homeland isdners even without any pratice, no real idea wtf we were gonan be doing as a team, we managed to put in fairly good fight (fear us on dm7! muahaha), gettin a win under our belts and with connects and some practice things might have been very different.

the ctf side of things was also alot of fun to involved in. like the tdm side of things it was kind of spoit by connects meaning it was very hard to motivate for pratices, but we managed to get a fair few in, and as it turned out we became a very hard team to beat, managing a win and giving all teams a game of it, i will claim on instances we didn't really get the run of the luck and having 2/3 isdn attack for most games doesnt really inspire much fear into the 1mbit and 2mbit enforced defences around europe! maybe next time with some more work, and pray to god i get adsl and some of the others too, we'll keep progressing!

gtv! i know there was alot of support for us on irc and gtv, sorry we couldnt have done just a little bit better, next time.. muaha?:d

to conclude! big thx to every1 who helped, supported and pld with/for team.ie this season, was alot of fun and a honour to play with you all and for ireland, have a good/drunk christmas and new year!

cheers!

p.s. big thx to farside, who kindly let me abuse his adsl for the offical games to at least give me a fighting chance, pity i waste it though.

ive donated to quake.ie!

I should have posted something like this to thank everyone for the effort, but haven't been on much the past few days

I'm hoping that by the time the next nations cup comes around we'll have a few on DSL and can get some decent praccy in. With a bit of prac and voice comms in CTF (for attack at least) we could have done a lot better, so we have loads of room for improvement next time It was frustrating to have to play people (Bd, Anarchy, and sometimes sno) out of their best position just because we needed their ping in base to stop us being steam-rollered and pingraped, but luckily we had a versatile squad and they did the job well.

It was great to see us all on white pings, its just frustrating that it meant 4 of us having to travel for an hour or two to play from somewhere else, and playing in an environment that they're not used to. Thanks to Anarchy for all the effort going to Farsides for the games - it really paid off, 60% rail etc With Koopa and Vin on the DSL (ta again MP) we had a potentially great team, if only we had that every night we'd be sorted. Also well played sno, Bd, dest, Lorc, Nex and anyone else who played in the CTF (soo miserable on the ISDN).

It was nice to beat Netherlands and Slovenia at least, a few screenshots to use as desktop wallpaper
