Jedi jedi posts : 240 administrator hi guys, thought this would be the best place to post a few questions that have been annoying me over the past few weeks. we all have had problems with the cd-key prompt coming up everytime you join a server. thx for the help in solving that question. however i have also been having problems with every time i try to join a server it prompts me to "punk buster must be enabled". so basically every time i try connect i have to got back and load normal quake3, go into multiplayer and then reconnect. so i have a way around it but does anyone know how i can enable punkbuster and keep it enabled so i dont have to go through the same routine every time i connect.??????? next question for some of you proxy guru's and routing boys. i have had cable here in the states for the last year and up to about 6 weeks ago the connect has beena dream 1meg up and down. unfortunetly 6 weeks ago my connection was re-routed and my ping to every competitive server has been screwed. for instance for those who have an idea of how states in the usa are made up. now if i want to connect to say new york for instance. i go from new mexico, west to arizona, west to la, west to san diego. then i start to go the way i want. east to dallas and on to new york. this in irish terms is like going from kildare to cork, cork to wexford and from wexford to dublin. its a bit stupid when kildare is next door to dublin if you knwo what i mean. is there anyway possible of somehow re-routing my connect through a proxy or some other means to get a more direct route to the east coast???? i heard it was possible but to be honest i have no idea how. anyway guys any help will be great. ps: i'm back in ireland on the 15th of febuary. looking forward to some good old clan rivalry again. i'll start the craic again by saying "calling all ex-ps members" those of you still alive i will be having tea and crumpits at my gaff when i get back and those of you interested in rejoin.... i mean coming along are more than welcome. )).

"Punk Buster Must be Enabled" is fixed by typing /pb_cl_enable in the console. You can then do /pb_writeconfig to set it in config. If that doesn't work, set cl_punkbuster 1 in your q3config, or in your command line if it still doesn't work.

14/01/2003 09:26 #4 Zero Ronan Condon Absolute Fucking Champion clan : n8z posts : 816 site administrator Tom, if your connection thru LA to New York is fixed, i.e. no direct line to New York, well then it's kinda screwed, e.g. UL connect goes through INEX, and we can only change routing after that. But, it's simply your routing, then it can be bounced, or you can connect thru a socks. Let's say, from New Mexico, you could connect directly to a server in chicago, but if you wanted NY you would go thru LA, well then you would get a socks5 proxy put on a server in chicago. When we were playin in BW, we were goin thru Holland for a while, but we put a socks on IOL, and we were able to go from UL -> IOL-> BW. If that helps...
