| my team, hatstand, got back together for the first time since the new year. it was good to have everyone back again and the mood was good.
we started fecking about with the new 1.27g patch and getting ourselves familiar with the fixes/fuckups id have done to our loving game. also the new osp 99q (which sucks beyond belief under certain circumstances). anyway, with all that sorted, good and bad, we lined ourselves up with our new practice clan, utits (under the infuence of tortured souls). their team comprises of the likes of bigfoot, cenobite, vic&bob, coda, speed, robertj, etc. their pretty good anyway. we played two maps, mexx1 and dm7. as soon as the game started tho we found out how rusty we all were, utits included and we were all running around like headless chickens. it was funny afterwards, but not at the time. the plan : more practice!
one thing that id like to bitch about is osp. now, as you know osp is a wonderfull mod and it does all sorts of cool shit. one thing tho it forgets about is netcode and thats where it dies a death inmho. picture the scene : you warming up on the server, your pings a solid 50 even with 8 people a the room plasma fighting, rocket trails everywhere, scraps galore. no packet loss, ping staying solid as a rock. ok, cool, everythings fine and your all dandy and ready to go. the game begins and bam, your ping jumps to 200 and its lag city!!
before you go anywhere, don't say its my config cos it's highly unlikey. after the utits game, i talked at lenght to both bigfoot (runs the barrysworld leagues) and cenobite (author of kteams), both know what their talking about. it seems that later versions of osp has been known to do this. i might post the logs later of the converstation we had, but in the mean time, has anyone else expierenced this problem, and if so, what did you do to resolve this? id like to hear about it.
