Zero Ronan Condon Absolute Fucking Champion clan : n8z posts : 816 site administrator we try and we try. we get to the semis of the opencup, and get beaten by a lol team because of connection bullshit and unavailable players (due to connection bullshit). it is teh suck, and we have had enough arsing around trying to get playable servers etc., so once next week's league games are over, nd q3 is officially in hibernation until we get decent connections. we'll still play etc, but will join other teams until we get properly sorted with connections, probably never, heh. gg irish telecoms.

You can get tiny pc cases and good lcd screens these days, which would be small + light to carry, would reduce the hassle of lans a bit. Of course its only an option if you have money to burn... gerry_

I was ready to quit last night and become a fulltime qwer!! because of the shite lag that makes it really pointless to play. Savage last night was unplayable, last week's BWCTFL was beyond a joke... then out of the blue, BWCTFL last night was OK. I suppose I'll keep playing as normal and FH will continue mid/lower table div2 struggling with SHITE connects until 2 more of us get broadband If I actually had to drive somewhere and go to hassle to play, then I would definitely not bother. When we played TDM, we were stuck in div3 and with all of us on ISDN we could not get out... even if we could win 6 of our games on sucky ISDN pings, theres bound to be 3 weeks of the season where its beyond a joke and we're lagging to 250 ms and we lose to teams we should be beating thus losing out on promotion and shattering any enthusiasm. Its got to that stage now in CTF also, we're stuck in div2 and even if we practice a load and get l33t tactics and learn to play on 120 ping, there will be a few weeks of the year where all 5 of us are hitting 250ms and I think nobody can win vs a decent team in that situation. Note, FH are not folding, even if I went inactive in q3 (which I'm not) we still have loads of players who are willing to suffer through bollox connects.

If we were broadbanders on 30-50 ping that DOES NOT go up, I could honestly say 4 of those games were ours 4/8 against that oppostion isnt bad and perhaps a higher ratio, one rail makes all the difference at times i.e. first couple of mins in RA room dm7. our team is full of decent shafters which also makes a helluva difference in tdm, I dunno rocket and rail arent my thing. Any idea on what that 256k dsl would ping?
