| hmm, what to say. well since i am now an admin of quake.ie i might as well blather on a bit on my own column.
well the galway lan was quite succesful, it wasn't your big uber quakapalooza type thing, but we managed to have a great time none the less. even though a few of you seemed to think it would be a cs only affair we had our fair share of q3 and qw as well as a good bit of avp and some rts goodness in the form of aoe2 and starcraft. oddly enough there seemed to be a good few playing sigle player only games, even after lugging their pc's across great distances only to do something they could have done in the comfort of their homes. not that there was anything wrong with that, we all still had a great time there.
i hear doodee wants to organise yet another lan here in galway before the end of the year. i dont really think we should be having one again so soon, i personally think that we should leave the lan off til early next year as it would be difficult to organise in such a short time period. especially if we are planning to get it hosted in another hotel like gl2 was originally planned to be (this was booked too late and we never got the room).
also we need more quakers at the next lan, cmon you lot! we had a lot more quakers this time round than the first one but we were still surrounded by mostly cs players, the only person there who was entirely faithful to quake was mordeth who didnt eve have half-life installed and said he hated counterstrike, although he didn't play brilliantly at quake 3 he was at least one person willing to sit watching divxs when everyone else was playing counterstrike. koopa actually turned up for this one and bunny and quozl. i reckon everyone who turned up for gl2 will probably try to be at gl3 plus more coz we all agreed that it was great fun putting condoms in bunnys pint.
