| living in london isn't all it is cracked up to be when you can't afford to go out. i still haven't really recovered financially since i moved here in october last year. last year, after travelling, i had arranged a job in london with a crowd i'd worked with before. i moved to london, got a place and got ready to start work. i wish. the funding that they were waiting on was "certain", except it wasn't. they couldn't hire me until they got money and it never arrived; i ended up being unemployed until mid-december and as a result got into some nasty debt. ah well, i'm working now, it's a good job -- i'll not bore anyone with the details.
one thing that's p*ssing me off is that i can't afford to bring my computer over from dublin yet. i've got broadband for 27 quid a month (i can make room for that financially!) if i want it and there's nothing i can do. just a 2" square portable tv that i borrowed from a friend is all i've got. and five channels. bbc1/2, c4, itv and 5. the latter channel is such trash; i don't know how they get away with it. every single dire eighties movie that you'd forgotten about seem to appear regularly on five; it must be a hollywood actors pr nightmare -- "i told my agent to burn that shit, damn him, damn him to hell!".
anyhow, thought i'd give yez an update, i'm not dead, but a close a state to it as breathing allows.
