It allowed Q1 the things that are now standard in OSP, such as location reporting, FPS commands (e.g. turning off big rocket explosion etc)., and standard teamplay commands like weapon available etc. It also incorporates cheat protection, the Qizmo was able to check the models in the the clients and stop people doin shit like pinnochio noses on players to see em around corners etc.
