the world cyber games is going to happen from 5 - 9th dec down in korea, theres plenty of tournaments including a $35k q3 one, heres my predictions in descending order...

james.mask (ukranian)/st germain (french)/if-22 (danish) - don't ask me why i rate these so low, james.mask is one of those scary russians, st germain has some of the best lg aim and movement (on t2) i've seen so far and if-22 is well capable, they lack competition experience though and there seems to be better players. win seems very doubtful, possibly top 5.

janus (korea) - this is the korean guy, he seems to have a very good rail and played some close games with polasitiy a good while ago. top 10 placing.

blokey (england) - he shouldn't be down this far, alot of talent, i think lack of experience and few decent practise partners for duels. if he plays consistantly and well, lower half of top5.

python (australia) makaveli (usa) - this pair seem equal enough, both have relatively the same style, makaveli came out of nowhere to come 3rd in the us qualifiers and python seems to have been practicing hard, not sure if either could come first, but 2nd or 3rd is possible.

aim (scandinavia) - this guy was very impressive in previous tournaments, beating big names but being slightly inconsistant, i dont think he will take first or second, but should cause some upsets.

socrates (usa) - came second in the us qualifiers, seems very adept on the 'pro' maps, rail aim very good, actually able to give zero4 a decent game, if he manages to practice with zero4 before the tournament i wouldnt put 2nd place past him.

prozac (scandinavian) - i've placed this guy very high up, but coming first in the scandinavian qualifiers is definitely some phrase...very solid aim, i think he's been practicing alot, don't know if he could win though. might make it into the top3.

stelam / slinger (germany) - i really consider these are two wildcards, extremely good duellers, but they seem to have been concentrating on alot of tdm lately and not duel, however any decent practice before the tourney could put them into the top 3.

top 3....

lexer (russian) - extremely good russian player, been getting progressively better and better than all the other amazingly good russians, very solid, no mistakes, doesn't have a huge amount of experience but could easily win.

pele (russian) - ever so slightly better than lexer in my opinion, seems to have been around a little longer too. again, perfect aim, no mistakes, very strong contender for no1 spot.

zero4 (usa) - us no.1, incredible aim, movement etc, easily one of the best on pro-t4, i think everyones favorite to win after his performance at the us qualifiers and the last big event.

not going

lakerman, fatality, revenant, reef (too young), czm - i don't think any of these lads are in shape to threaten the top3 but would be a perfect tournament if they were there.

some demos

zero4 v socrates pro-t4 - zero4 definitely looks the king of pro-t4 at the moment, flicky style, goes for just about every railshot, this demo will easily scare the russians and scandinavians.

prozac v aim t2 - fairly clinical game on t2, prozac is very confident/aggressive, nice movement.

ive donated to quake.ie!

didn't come out of nowhere. he was inactive for awhile, but was playing like mad again, at least at the end of this summer while i was there. I gave him a few duels on pro-t4, which was practically all he played at the time, and he was seriously good, even when stoned but that doeasn't mean much since i'd be raped 45-2 by any of these guys probably, but he has really got back into the game, duelling all the big names on the west coast.. and even some from farther away... saw him giving 200-ping Aim a game at one stage , and even the likes of Moonshine - a real contender at the WCQ qualifiers, have never beaten him on pro-t4.
thats why i expected pro-t4 to be the map that he would dominate on, but from what i've seeen of the WCG qualifiers, he acquitted himself very well on the other maps also. imo he'll definitely be one to watch.
