| i havent updated in a while so its time to unleash the geese. i am getting via dsl in the next couple of weeks, rejoice! hurrah! i actually never thought i'd see the day in this country where we'd have relatively affordable broadband.
it all developed relatively fast after an unstable market and uninterested consumer said 'nah feck that' to it. i think irelandoffline and other such lone campaigners cracked it, anyhow its on its way and maybe the whole internet experience might be enjoyable once again -> fear the isdn bill. interleaving is off which could possibly mean white pings which coincidentally means there are now new guns available to use, something called plasma.....i'll need clarity on this i havent really used it since some lan. i only remember it for its sonicboom effect during timeouts when u run out of ammo this gun appears on your hud and spits visually irritating and noisy white balls. there is also a weapon called 'lightning gun' i may have used it more during my isdn if there was a callvote isdn lg_ammo 300. one of my favourite weapons now functional again? i arsed around with settings the other night esp. cl_timenudge +70 +30 + 50 possible variables of the dsl ping, doesnt really simulate the isdn shaft experience until you go to +100 or more. +50 doesnt loose more than 3-4% accuracy for me anyhow. i dont know how many times gathering around a quad fight on the likes of dm14 i've got that feeling of 'you'd all be respawning now........if only'. always been steady on rail no matter what the ping. lately i was playing cpma on isdn and got used to a much higher sensitivity, a clutch shot orientated aim and overall a way better kill on the move skill. i think the mod can greatly improve certain types of players and perhaps ruin others due to its unforgiving style and hyperactive pace.
started playing ctf for jobos more regularly too on my last days of hi-speed internet access!!!11 first time i ever played the gametype and i must say its highly enjoyable especially playing flag defence rather than being a muppet charging towards a flag. weeeee'll have to give that a good go on the connex.
in more reality related news, i made the burst to stab city, living near the docks for easy access to syhphilis infested hookers and seedy pubs. havent got a job yet as i've been busy living it up with the usual drinking lark. got a good bit saved up maybe i might get a couple of weeks arsing around on dsl before i go off my head.
i was playing some yahoo pool today and set the shot time to 8 seconds. i think the opponents asl was like 25/m/taiwan, he must have been on 33k modem coz he got about the break and another legit shot in when i missed- i didnt use my steel ruler to get the angles right. similar game on sky digital now 50p a play loal. so to finish up i'm wondering if the majority of us get on dsl will we see some resurgence in irish q3 or 'do we think its all over', i'd say 'its not now'.
