| ive been pretty much laying low over the last 6 or so months. theres been several reasons, mostly personal, which i wont go into here. the gaming factor has been that one word - modem.
one just can't play on modem. it just isnt funny! soo, time passes. i play from work now and then, but thats now and then, and its just not the same as playing from home. while the connection is excellent, its the time factor, ie.. come in at the weekends or late at night play some and go home. when your at home tho, its much cooler as you can play till the wee hours of the morning, tweak the arse of your puter, smoke and drink your brains dry and pretty much enjoy the gaming.
so that brings me to today and the future. 4 likkle letters - adsl. ynom. i got it installed yesterday. its good. now, right this moment as we speak, its not the package i was meant to get, but they are changing it to the 'eircom starter' pack so i can get a nice solid 50 ping.
for those of you considering dsl, get the starter pack as it has the lowest interleaving that eircom can provide. the interleaving starts at 19ms, add another 20-30 to your ping and thats what your talking about in-game. okay, its not as l33t as some peoples connects, but in ireland, its pretty damn good and it beats isdn and modemage.
one things for sure, it lets me play again and compete at a high level. so, the rockets are out if the closet, my mouse has been oiled up, hey, i even cleaned the pubes from my keyboard! *shudder*.
what-ever the case, i know one thing - your all fucking dead!
