| the ul lan over the weekend was pretty sweet. having been starved of competitive lan quake for many months, this was a timely event. we got setup on friday night, zero, amp, devore, ol got the network setup, and i got handed sonics job of getting machines working, since he couldn't make it. strange how machines work fine till you bring them to a lan
anyway, we played from about 12 on saturday morning, i played a fair bit of quakeworld, but the main game was quake3. it was actually surprisingly fun, with almost no frustration compared to when i stopped playing it online. i got koopas config, and this helped a lot. i played duels, and a few wars. also played a few excellent 2v2's, on dm6 and cpm4.
we got kicked out at 9:30, slightly early but what the hell. we headed downstairs for a few drinks, and found some bands playing... the support band were absolutely brutal, apart from having all their amps turned up too loud, the lead singer couldn't sing properly, and they had obviously never listened to tapes of themselves playing.
the main band were actually pretty ok, but everyone was in the mood for talking, catching up etc.
people turned up around midday on sunday, and i played qw while nd and fh were playing q3. i also decided once and for all to try my old logitech pilot mouse, since my boomslang had started to stick, and generally piss me off. even though the logitech was worn out, and not the smoothest mouse, it was better than the fecking razer.
in the evening, we played a load of pickup q3 games, an acid team, managed to win a few games, thanks mainly to the addition of bunny
finally got out of there about 10 o' clock, rather late but why not make the most of it, i don't understand people who go to a lan for a day. the drive home was only 2 hours anyway
