| in seoul, korea. the 1st world cyber games has been running here. here's what's been happening in the quake 3 tourney.
group stages
group a
akiles_es, chrishoare_uk (blokey), fazz_se, janus_kr, hoho_tw, sk.slinger_de
in this group, i would've expected by their reputation that either lexer, blokey or slinger would qualify. here's what happened. lexer secured 1st place with 5:1 win:lose ratio, with blokey 4:2, the surprising thing is that sk.slinger lost all his and defaulted against blokey as he heard that blokey got a default loss when he was having lunch.
group b
293arbiter_ua, aim_se, cheater_tw, fist1_br, logan_es, ph4ntom_za, zero4_us
i would expect zero4 and fist1 to qualify from this group. here's what happened, zero4 has won the group with an 6:0 ratio. next to qualify was ph4ntom_za as he was on same ratio as aim but it seems that ph4ntom has beaten aim in their match so he goes through.
group c
2059chip.deep_ua, cringe_au, d2-krv_jp, kitti_th, pele_ru, xeon_hu
from this one, its undoubtedly going to be pele that will qualify, and he does. as for the others, i dont really know a lot about them but xeon secures 2nd place.

sid stormed through this group with 5:1 ratio, 2nd place goes to the hometown boy rinrin_kr.

from this, i would've kinda expected socrates and python to qualify, but heh 1 out of 2 isnt bad, python qualifies, with kik_ru taking 1st place with 7:0 ratio

for this i would say the 2 euros would go through with st_germain getting 1st place. menendez gets 2nd. they did.

for this, i would say prozac win the group, and maybe the canadian? prozac wins it, radic gets 2nd place and qualifies.

sk.stelam takes 1st place, with 331517040_ua taking the 2nd spot, as for you maka fans out there, he was 7th placed and unfortunately didnt get past the group stages.

zero4 plays radic_ca, and shows radic why he's the best in the us by 13-3.
