| admortem is a ladder based qw league similiar to the past nqr 2 league. signups opened last night, with already 36 clans signed up in one day, this league looks promising. sign up here!

what is ad mortem and do we really need more quakeworld leagues? if you can remember the "a frag in the darkness" (afitd) ladder back in 1990's you will have a pretty good idea what ad mortem is. ad mortem is slightly different from all the current leagues. it is based on a ladder system where all clans are allowed to play all other clans listed in the ladder. playing games will earn you points, even if you lose. these points will determine your rank in the ladder. playing versus much better/worse clans than your own will increase the amount of points that you have the chance to win. this way bad clans will benefit from playing better clans even if they are up for a sure loss as they will still gain a reasonable amount of points.
all exmx, exmxtdm, dmx and cmtx maps are allowed in ad mortem. read the rules for more details on this.
we believe that ad mortem will persuade clans to play outside their divisions. ever since nqr launched the divisions concept, clans have been hesitant to play clans that are much better than themselves, resulting in a very limited number of opponents. everyone in ad mortem is free to play anyone else.
we also believe that ad mortem will promote the use of other maps than the big three (dm2, dm3 and e1m2) as each clan is free to pick any available map from the allowed exmx, dmx and cmtx maps. the third, decisive map is a joint pick by the clans. if an agreement cannot be reached, one map from the big three (tb3) will be played. anyway, read the rules for more information.
