| well we are all back in work/college after a gruesome overnighter in panama scout hall over the weekend playing nothing but q3 and qw.
thanks to everyone who helped us organise it, thanks to rich/snaga/legion for running it for us and thanks to the lads who helped out on friday afternoon (ol/rapp/saik/killy).
competition winners -
q3 duel - n8z-melachi (a vicious game vs n8z-rapp in final)
qw duel - bunny (vs n8z-overlord in final)
seeded ctf - dandruffattack (n8z-melachi, n8z-benji, poacher-baz, bilor (no clan) and [spectator]
n8z -vs- fh ctf - fh won 2-1, n8z won first map cp1 5-1, fh took cp5 8-1 and cp9 3-2.
n8z -vs- fh tdm - not played due to lack of time.
we hope everyone enjoyed themselves and would come again when (not if) we run the next one. the seeded ctf seemed to be good fun, we always include it so that players of a lesser "calibre" who enjoy q3 can get their games in and enjoy themselves. the slight downer of the weekend was the fact that we (mp, myself, bio) were down money after the weekend due to the huge amount of no-show-ers, which may mean that the next one thats run will be a pre-pay event, however that is no reflection on the people that turned up and made the lan, in my eyes at least, a success. and by guaranteeing the numbers for next time, we can also guarantee decent prizes for winners. for those that werent there, you missed a good night of drinking followed by 22hours of quake and unlimited free beer/crisps/snacks. for those of you who signed up but didnt show, you missed the future quakelans, because you wont be invited.
thanks again to everyone who showed up, like i said, we hope ye enjoyed yourselves, and we'll do it again soon if theres enough of a response.
