| things going well enough for us in n8z atm, we are currently in div3 of the jolt tdm after being promoted from div4 last season. we havent lost a game yet, and two matches this sunday should hopefully see us topping the table.
in the clanbase 4v4 ctf summer cup we have gotten through to the quarter finals of the third league, where we have to play ql (quake lamers) to make the semis. dont know much about these guys (killy?), yet i know we played them before, must have been a praccy or something. so hopefully we'll do well there, there's no reason with our current line-up why we couldnt waltz through it.
maybe not an entirely accurate player history here but as far as i remember off the top of my head we started with myself, rapp, mindphuck, jedi and dardoz, then recruited mel, dermo and bane early on, followed by pyro, ol and benji when xl collapsed. lost dardoz to mexico, jedi to cod, bane to inactivity, mel to et/inactivity and ol/benji to ded, so recruited kazz shortly before rapp bailed off to holland, followed closely by sky. not long before jedi went playing cod we were havin trouble with peoples conns and not able to get online and general lack of praccy, but we were just starting to get it together then with rapp making his mark on the german esl league where we were the lone irish flag in the middle of a bunch of german ones, while our jolt tdm was suffering and somehow we got demoted to div4 of the tdm.
recently mel came back playing, rapp got online and we recruited moll, (now in states) and more recently darknox and breeze, who are both fuckin lethal, ol came back to us recently but is inactive with conn probs, we have kinda lost pyro due to conn problems but he gets on and does his best despite the mingin ping. so last season in div4 of the tdm, after a shaky start we basically milled through each team, significantly beating even the ones close to us on the table and coming out with the highest frag diff of the league (+900), with ppl like rapp/mel/sky/kazz really showing what they can do, and they're a pleasure to play on a team with. with mp's connection problems he took on the role of coach for the latter half of the season and the coaching sk1llz he honed with ts helped immensely, we found ourselves able to change tacs midgame if we were under pressure and break the enemy teams, where-as before the frustration may have set in. i half-think in a way rapp/mel's confidence just kinda rubs off on the team when they are playin, they are the type of players walk into a room with four guys and kill the four of them, while playing with guys like sky and kazz we have played enough together that we just throw a few words here and there to each other and know where each other are / where they are going etc. we were kinda lucky to get a hold of nox and breeze, we havent played a lot with them yet but from what i have seen they are very consistent.
kinda rambling on but i suppose my point is that before, in the far far away when i was nd, we had struggled with bullshit for so long, getting beaten by worse teams, and conn problems etc, then split up just as we were starting to click, and have had a long run of it in n8z trying to get shit together and intially experiencing the same problems but now the team has come together nicely, even though we havent been online too much the last few weeks.
i upgraded my pc recently (bought moll's pc) to a 2.9gig p4 with a half-gig of ram and a 9700 radeon. hopefully getting a 9800 pro on the cheap soon but the machine runs most games very well, and since i got the new machine i have been playin a good few sp games. doom3, havent played a lot of it yet really, just did the token hour playing it, graphics v impressive, have to play more of it, i mean it didnt draw me back the next day or anything but good nonetheless.
hitman. if you have never played it, you are in for a treat as there are now 3 of them out, and, you are also a gimp for never having played it, at least i love the games, and while there are disappointing aspects to hitman 3, i.e. a few of the hitman 1 levels that are remade (which are cool) are way too easy to do based on the first time you played it, although some of them are cool in the way that you now have a load of different ways to complete the mission. anyway, if you havent played hitman, get the three of them, they are class. i'm currently waiting for splinter cell to download from the emmm.... shop...yes.... and as far as ive read its fuckin class, again, if you havent played splinter cell (where have you been?) its another class game, if a little linear, but well worth playing. i've written this basically a line here and there all day in work so its a bit scattered im sure but im posting it as my token update.
