dont know how good it is these days... i remember quozl having fiercely inconsistent pings on the first hop but apparently it has improved since then.

I should be able to get it but am skeptical about getting it before others in my area due to the possible shiteness of it :/

they have some new technology now. I was at bluewangs house and he had it. I pinged 15 to uk servers, way better than eircon and ntl cable.
If anything id recommend the new tech...

How far is he from the Transmitter? I'd be about 3 or 4 miles from it so i could have a not so good signal resulting in a not so good ping :(

The guy that installed IBB at the last Darkside is coming out to my gaff next week to take a look at my options seeing as theres a new mast down the end of the ballymun road, its a bit of a san siro situation up where I am but i think I'll be able to see the mast, but if not we might have to bounce it. I dont know how that will effect pings etc..problem is im stuck between getting a half decent d/load speed or good gaming pings for Pyro..wonder which one will win out in the end all let ye all know how it goes.

The distance from the base station wont have any effect - at the last darkside we were connected to the 3 rock transmitter - and we were in Phibsboro Pings were good, and that was a distance of at least 12 miles.
