well,as the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. mine's finally caught up with me, as i've been given a shot at being head admin for the bwq3utl ( http://leagues.barrysworld.net/bwq3utl/ ).

given the fluctuation in the urban terror scene of late (new versions, devteam changes etc.) its going to be an interesting time to be running the league. i hope i can do it justice and build on the foundations laid by my predecessor excession.

i know i've managed to finally hook mindphuck into urt lately, and given the lag compensation code that is ever improving, maybe you lads on the emerald isle can get some fun from urt even if the rest of q3 leaves you lagged to a standstill. never been a better time etc. </plug>

I dont know weither to congratulate you in becoming head admin or to sympathise with you! Either way, best of luck with it.

UrT is pretty good these days, from the early beta, I've had an interest in it as I like the Counter-Strike type games. Whats even better - its got the Q3 engine which ensures theres no cheaty mo-fo type things going on that you would get with CS. Its a different game tho, similiar, but different. It gets my thumbs up anyways.

UrT is played a fair bit online? sweet. If i could just get a nice lpb connection at home........ :I

Its a lot more like Action Half-Life than CS, and i think its all the better for it, lots more fun imo.

UrT is played quite widely online, theres a thriving european scene, the league has more people waiting for places than are actually playing this season, and the development is continuing quietly in the background.

Yeah it was originally designed by AQ2 players I believe.

Incidentally, the current scene rumour is that the network prediction works better on a high ping than on a low ping, and as I'm now an lpb on ADSL something definitely feels amiss.

Gwan lads, give it a go, you know you want to..
