hi. i am having problem with getting Bittorrent to work at work. i can access all websites an download all files fine.

when i try to start a Bittorent download tho it does not work. i get this message "Tracker Response OK, reannounce in 180 s" now i am not very good with Networks, but this is my guess.

i have connected to the tracker, but it cannot connect back to me. It cannot find my real IP address? this some thing to do with NAT? what do i need to get around this, do i need to set my IP address on my PC?

cheers for any help.

baz: are you a fucking retard? Yes.

He asked for help, not anoter snotty comment from your useless ass.

Try logging into your gateway, open cmd followed by "ipconfig". Should say something like "Default Gateway . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254"

Try http://192.168.1.254:80 - login 1234 and go to Firewall settings. Need more info on the setup there, but it aint hard to get around.

If you can gain access to your works router..

you could redirect TCP port ranges from say 10000 - 50000 to your local ip address (ie. 192.168.0.22)

Im not 100% sure of what ports bitorrent uses (hence the broad range), that should work.

followed by "rofl @ mixus suggestion, newb"

K so he shouldnt try what I said because he could get into trouble with his admins but why rofl at that?

Fucking idiot anyone? Put your hand up, baz. Be proud.

Out line the part of my suggestion that is ROFL, dolt.

rofl at logging into a banks internet gateway and attempting to open up bit torrent ports or forward them, ya fuckin clown.
Have you any experience of entreprise class hardware firewalls and network setups, no, now stfu before you make yourself look more like a 16 yr old script kiddy.

haha Mixu ya tool.

Didnt mean to piss on your bonfire ser, just it is prolly more hassle that its worth to get a haxxed version of q4

Yes I do, I work for a company that installs and configures them. If you had any experience with them you would know that - 70% of the times the router is left accesible with the default password.

Where are you speculating this setup/hardware from? I made a pot shot and you called it "rofl" (I didnt know it was a "financial firm".) At least I gave him a positive reply instead of a useless, attention seeking baz reply.

Youre a wanna be nerd, a useless one at that.

Flame away.

super advertisement for the company you work for, 70% of routers with default passwords. loltastic

Have you even seen a hardware firewall ? or a proper router(not some netopia shite)

Im embarrased even to be posting on the same thread as the shite youre spouting.

You didnt know it was a financial firm, but still advised him to mess with his workplaces router/firewall setup. Thats just stupid.

Anyway, my last word on this is.......buy the game
