From the readme file :
Nailhooking Q4 Tut
To start very simple you need two players so get some mates
To first try and do an easy Nailhook:
1) Find a flat wall (no windows or lights) get one player to crouch down with the nail gun out back to the wall and aim up
2) Get second player to jump on and allign accordingly
3) First player now holding crouch starts to shoot and hold and if your lucky (it is inconsitant) you will start to rise
4) Because the Nailgun knockback tends to act backwards (at low hights) the wall keeps u from going anywhere silly
A few notes player 2 can walk off the first Nailhook i achieved Wussie was AFK, goes to show
Voilla! your first Nailgunhook
More advanced techniques like going into windows and landing on ledges require the second player to be shot up a good distance higher as the hook relys on him being there, once at the right hight the player doing the hooking may now stop shooting and land the trick.
Before we go any further a couple of points
1) Nailgunhooking requires a constant aim afaik if you miss one nail you blow the whole hook, this wasn’t a problem with a wall guiding you.
2) Nailgun knockback tends to one side normally it tends to go forward (at great hights)
Advanced no-wall NailgunHooking
This requires a bit more skill on both parts
1) Position player 1 below the desired platform away from walls and ledges (and a fair distance from the platform itself), aim up with nailgun and crouch and face the platform u wish to get to
2) Position player 2 on top of player 1 and also have him crouch as this helps keep stability, have him face the opposite way (aka away from platform)
3) Player 1 must now shuffle himself so the direct aim up is right on the tip of player 2 ass, he then shoots and holds
4) Player 1 must keep the aim on player 2 while player 2 uses the movement keys to best stay on top of player one (as to ease the aim)
5) If pulled of right (and it takes a few tries believe me) a constant hook should take you up to at least quad at the longest day (we wanna see higher)
another tip if your finding the controll hard is to have the second player stand up and use the walk key instead of crouch moving (not right away though)
Any problems with this tut or the technique please post up and ill get back to you
