| class weekend with the fishies, played q3 til we were practically puking, bleeding eyes etc. they mostly arrived down on friday evening and we had the network up and running with barely any hassles.
we had 10 pcs set up in the gaff, 4 nd machines in the sitting room, and 6 fh machines out in the kitchen. nd had myself, overlord, bunny, beast, koopa and devore, while fishheads had killy, vin, saik, psyk, robbo and nexus. we played tons and tons and tons of wars, way more than the last time they came down, and we got to learn levels like osp5/6 properly and try and get our teamplay down a bit more. the communication with all the lads in the same room is mad, you can say stuff that binds can't, e.g. "quad guy comin in from shaft, i got him with a rail, he's v low, btw just took mega" etc.
the fh lads are exceptionally good on lan, every single one of them has an absolutely sick rail, making teams very even, and i think it came down to teamplay that won most of the tdms for us, well we won all of them except the dm6 that the bastards snatched by four frags, it was their rails that totally fucked us on that level, we were holding ra/rl/shaft and landing/killing/taking quad just as much as they were, but for all the damage we were doing to them, they were doing straight back with lightning fast lock-on rails, rarely missed, which as you can imagine is hell to play against on dm6. was a v good game, i'll put up a lash of demos tomorrow, too lazy to copy them from home today.
anyhoo, cheers to the fishies for comin down, we had a great laugh, even if it is going to take me a week to feel some way alive again, i shudder at the thought of going back to 50ping hell on the net, but sure, we'll struggle on til the next time.
