As some of you have seen, the majority of times I join a server my ping shoots to 999 and very seldom comes back down until I disconnect from the server.
It seems to be the ISDN 64K up is not enough.

I have played a few games though where ping has been between 15-40 and was quite playable. Some of the other lads are on ISDN with no problems ! Its really pissing me off and I wanted to give this game a try but because of this stupid fucking bug I cant play the damned thing.

slan, try lowering your rate, maxpackets, etc.

this could also be a q3 bug that was related the server thinking that your on a LAN. its related to using the same isp as that the server is on.

I dont think this is related to the q3 bug - I think its to do with upload being maxed out upon connecting. When I first tried connecting it was through my other PC which had an Asuscom TA. I tried 10 times but could not connect to any servers, because I would be 999 for 2 mins and then get disconnected. I see this happening to some of the other ISDNers like slaan, space, and sometimes Vin.

To fix it I put an eicon diva TA in my new machine, and I havent been disconnected upon connecting since.
On single channel ISDN, use the following net settings:
seta net_clientUsercmdBackup "0"
seta net_clientMaxRate "7000"

On double ISDN go for
seta net_clientUsercmdBackup "2"
seta net_clientMaxRate "14000"

Do you have an asus TA or an Eicon diva?

I still go 999 for about 45 seconds when I connect sometimes, but do not get disconnected anymore.

down to the TA hardware? I gave paddy an external 3com ISDN TA a while back, maybe he could test it compared so his internal pci TA

Not sure what TA is in my internet enabled machine. I too am connecting through another computer to access the internet. I also cant play quake3 when they are playing Wow. I can play DoD strangely enough.
