Still trying to find the best solution to my lack of broadband.

Anyone here have clearwire wireless broadband. If so, how is it for online gaming.

Is it stable.
Ping times to jolt??
Do you get many spikes, etc.

Ive been very impressed with there customer service so far. Responding very quickly to all my questions including traceroutes, pings etc.

Ive even read great comments about them on boards.ie. The only thing ive not heard is feedback for online gaming.

Hope someone can enlighten me.

There was a thread on boards.ie about it, I didnt read it - check the broadband board, its called clearwire pings or something. Also, have you tried Digiwebs Metro? very good service if you can get it.

Im going Metro myself soon, cant justify this huge feckin eircom bill every 2 months, i spend under 10 euro on phone calls every bill(2 months) and have to pay the bloody line rental of 25 quid a month.

Metro is 42 euro a month, for 3mb/512kb

Clearwire links on boards here - http://www.google.com/search?domains=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boards.ie&sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boards.ie&q=clearwire

Metro looks class alright... loads of bandwidth, decent upload, cheap phonecalls, low ping - sounds like a perfect service for most of us if they dont fuck it up by oversubscribing or something.

Got clearwire and im pretty happy with the connection consisdering i have no other option. Im gettting very similiar ping to that shown above.

In Call of Duty 2 the ping movement is unnoticeable but in quake4 its alot more obvious. Im not 100% sure if its my config for quake4 yet.

But for slow less ping dependant games such as Battlefield, COD, Medal of Honor its v good.
