Packet wha ? this shit is soo good, it has to go on the homepage: http://www.cfos.de/

So what is it? without getting technical, let me just tell you Ive got bittorrent running at full speed without any upload/download throttling and Im playing quake at the same time, with NO LAG. I had a max speed download going on, then I fired up IE to hit a web page, and shit comes down immediately.

No, it doesnt give you more bandwidth. It uses XPs built in QoS (quality of service) layer in the stack to give different priorities to different types of traffic. I can use skype/gtalk/msn/irc/quake/etc at the same time as doing massive downloads and it will automagically prioritize the traffic, keeping voip traffic unlagged. It comes preconfigured with a list of all the major apps pre-selected at the right priority. You get 30 days to try it out before you can buy it.. but its only 9 euro. Get it, bitches. No, I dont work for them

For me it works very well if theres say an ftp download going. If i use bit torrent its not quite so good but well playable.

im not convinced how well software based QoS will handle torrents, the idea of torrents is being connected to oh so many people so the best you can do is limit outgoing speed to a few kb/s, and limit the total number of clients u can connect to. This slows everything down, so it makes sense to just close it

Direct single session ftp/http traffic etc is another matter. Gaming doesnt use much bandwidth, just needs the latency and a little bit of speed.
