you might be running the server on a non default port (not 27500). Go into more detail about what your doing so we can narrow down the possibilites.

For servers download all seeing eye, and select filter ireland and it will show all the servers for selected game in ireland. Theres a whole load of irish qw servers up atm, the most used is games4.iol.ie.

its been well over 1 year since I played with a netopia... you need to do something like...

1) give your PC a static IP, e.g. 192.168.1.2
2) on the netopia go to: expert mode > configure > advanced > pinholes (pinholes are netopias equivilant for port forwarding/PAT)
3) enter the external port number the world should connect to your qw server on, e.g. 27500
4) enter the internal IP address the external port should get forwarded to (192.168.1.2)
5) enter the inernal port that the external port should get forwarded to (27500)
6) submit, save, restart the router.
7) modify the rules of any firewall (s/w or h/w) you have to allow incoming TCP connections to 27500
8) get your external IP address http://www.whatismyip.com/
9) tell all ur qw buddies to connect to: externalipaddress:27500

youre better off using the special application settings, its the application button underneath Virtual Servers. If youre stuck you could set your qw machine as the dmz, although I dont advise that.
