You want to do something and you want to do it well. With a background like arQon, when you send a mail to idsoftware/raven explaining that after osp and cpma, youre now decided to work on a mod for q4, I think there is a good bit of chance that you get a positive answer to your mail (like the one he got from the CPL). Probably tied by an NDA, this is something we wont hear officially about but I think that the q4max team is much better informed than any other mod makers. Having a contact to deal on some technical issues/guidances would explain why simpleitems wasnt implemented in q4max for instance where xbattle actually have listen to the community and wasted time implementing something that they didnt know would be included in the new patch. Now as I said, its only an impression but arQon is a clever guy and a talented modder so to me its kind of obvious. It is something I would do if I were him ...
