| hello ladies. been a long time since i posted on the site, was checking it for a good while and it seemed down, but that looks sorted now. good to see ye all playin QW again, OL and Bunny have been tellin me ye are knockin the shit out of all the little UK nerds, which is cool. Im afraid after a long absence from online play, got a connect as Q4 came out, decided it was shit and got sucked into the never-ending constantly-changing time-consuming thing that is warcraft.
i think a lot of you probably play or have played it, so you know what im talking about, i.e. how easy it is to spend hours and hours at the stupid thing and not notice it. I spent years slagging all those "D+D" style games, our mate Pete (Reaper from the old QW days) played em all and we used to always slag him off, Bunny used to have this saying, in his Comic-Shop Owner voice, "I will smite you with my sword of Gazinthar!" etc etc. But anyway, what happened was, our net connect was crazy slow, way too slow for Quake, so myself and a mate used to spend evenings playing online poker, with a couple of beers or smokes or whatever. At one point our account ran out of money and out of boredom we loaded this "WOW" thing, had some trial account so said it would pass the evening. A week later we bought the thing between us. A week after that we bought a second copy coz didnt want to share any more. Of course, after Bunnys joke for so long, I had to call the first character I made "Gazinthar" as a joke, but now the cunt is level 70 and carrying a sword the size of my car and all the nerds think it was an effort at a cool macho name haha.
So anyway yeah, I play that game now, not on it 24/7 by any means but basically the time I used to spend playin a REAL game like Quake is currently being spent killing nerds in a fantasy nerd world with my fantasy nerd sword. The cool thing about it tho, and a few of us agreed its the only reason we still play, is that the type of server we are on is a PVP server. In other words, you have orcs on one side and humans on the other, they have no form of communication between the two races other than gestures, and basically you can kill a guy, then when he runs as a ghost from the nearest graveyard to his body and ressurects, you can kill him again. then you can kill him again. funnily enough, you can kill him again after that.
now the guy you are killing might be an irish guy or swedish or whatever, but because on the human side they are all dressed up like knights n all that shit, you always imagine when you "kill" the guy, that he is a little english fuck who most likely slapped you around DM4 for years but then quit out as soon as you got the drop on him, i must say there is a terrific satisfaction in it.
So what happens after you kill him 5 times is usually that he cries enough to his mates and they all come down to help their little Brit-in-distress. Thats where nicky comes in, (yes, the "Beast" plays warcraft), as you can imagine he is every bit as vicious as killing nerds as he used to be, must say its good crack.
Livin down in Cork these days, gone from Dublin a year this week actually, and so glad I got out of there, had enough of the place. Killy man, where do you live these days? If you are still this direction we must meet up for a few jars.
Anyway, good to see the site still up and ye all still quakin away, i might be tempted to log on some evening for a game or two.
