last night we had a good session on dm7 and dm14. i noticed ol and zero have some words on it so i thought i'd post my own comments.

myself, illkillya, jedi and mindphuck squared up to koopa, el pres, skelter and ol and chaos. we played dm7 and dm14 but didn't get around to doing dm6tmp. i think i had a fair enough preformance considering all my pc problems of recent and the fact 128k isdn wasn't working (although i heard 2 other lads had to use oceanfree which must be even worse :/).

throughout the whole thing though i was a little off put by the use of binds only. in bio and before in ss we always used voice comm software - sure we used binds too, but for unimportant stuff that doesn't merit you having to speak (like affirmative, negative, red armour taken etc..). voice comm software really is the only way to go - although i may aswell dig up my old binds and learn them again. it's so much easier to teamplay with voice communication - you can express something in words quickly that you couldn't ever in a bind.

on dm7 - i was pretty much pleased with our preformance for the first part of the game things were quite smooth - in the last 8 minutes or so our teamplay broke down into a more ffa style affair but still - for a team of 4 that have never played together it was a good preformance.

dm14 was a little different - a lot of the time we had real problems at the red armour, we had some good individual moments but from my experience on dm14 if you play it effectively you can lock it down totally - i remember some 200-0 wins with ss. however we were facing some really tough opposition like el pres and koopa who were bwec players but we managed to beat them in the end.

you can download the demo from quake.ie it's a 5.5 meg zip file.

ps: i ran into some mouse problems mid way through which you'll notice if you go onto watch the demo oh and a fast forward script would help because there's 5 mins or so of warmup
