this is what bunny spoke about earlier today. i am going to put the basic dm7 tactics here, and i want all the guys trying for the net team to read them. yeah, i know, you are all l33t and know them all already, you would be surprised what turns up in demos tho. once you've read these tactics and understand them, there is no reason for anybody next week to be wandering off on a tour de france around dm7, and if anyone does, well then it means you cannot adhere to even basic teamplay tactics, in which case you shouldn't be on the server in the first place. (you can obviously add ure own tactics in the time you get to talk about them before the game, but only special tactics). i am not trying to sound all hard or know-all about the whole thing, god knows that when i play i make enuff mistakes, but trust me it's very easy to analyse ppl's teamplay when you are speccing 8 guys in a level. so here they are:

basic dm7 teamplay tactics by bunny

(00 secs) --> when you spawn you rush for the nearest weapon/armor and fight your way to ra.

(00-30 secs) --> hold ra, 4 teammates in this area will make your team more effective.

(30 secs) --> go for second weapon spawn (and armor), then go en masse to quad.

(30 - 1 min) --> fight for quad, once quad is taken, attack ra and if the fight for ra is lost, everyone must pull back to quad, ya and rl

if the fight for ra is won, the other team should pull back, leaving you to set up positions at ra and possibly get a good start on timing megahealth

(1.30 - 2 mins) --> both teams stock up and get ready to take quad. the team in control of ra should attack quad late (15-20 secs before).

the other team should already be setting up defences at quad with a guy watching each door.

once quad is actually taken by either side, both sides should fight for ra, the losing side should pull back to quad/rl/ya and stock up for the next quad.

repeat cycle throughout the game.

(additional)

megahealth - every 35 seconds

ra team should nearly always send 2 players to get mega.

ya team should ambush them here and try to take mega.

quad - every 2 mins

ra team attacking quad works best if all 4 teammates hit it from 2 directions. (e.g. 2 from lower, 2 from mega)

ya team's best defence is their abundance of rls, use rocket launchers to blast entrances into quad when they expect ra team to arrive.

taking quad

concentrate on killing all opponents coming for quad and closest teammate takes it.

or

designated quad guy on your team who is well armored up times quad to the second, comes in and snatches it.

or

fight for quad, check team overlay, whoever has most armor/health/best weapon takes it.

ra team

guarding ra can become monotonous, urge to take potshots at quad or rl get stronger, resist the urge, concentrate on helping your teammates take mega each time.

ya team

keep a constant eye out for ra guys trying to take potshots at you.

be efficient at helping your team stock up with rls, plasma, shotgun, and especially ya and shards.

always send 2 (or more) in for mega.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

that's it lads, i have the binds here too but havent time to put them up atm, take a good read of those tactics and try your best to put them to good use.

see you next week,

zero.

These are just basic basic tactics to stop the games turning into ffa's...the teams have 10 mins before games to talk more detailed tactics. You can't teamplay properly with 2 weaker lost members on your team.

Yeah, it all depends on the circumstance, but going for Quad if ure in control of RA, is just like gambling. You already have your cake... now you're going for cream with that. As regards these only being basic tactics... that's fair enough, I was just under the impression that these were better tactics. As Koopa said, these are more LAN tactics, but sure anyone used to a 50 ping, should be just as good with the railgun as someone else attacking on a 50 ping. It's all relative. If you are used to your ping, then it won't matter, look at Mike and even Lorcan.... Ronan, say the YA-end team decide not to go for quad... they can just walk in and take RA, and lock themselves in with an RL, while RA team all go trundling down for quad. It all depends on the instance of the game itself. As Bunny said, alternative tactics can be decided moments before the game, I'll let it go.

as ronan said, read it and understand it. Beast, read it twice.

Also, while i am here, both armors are taken within 3 secs, 2nd armor will be back at 29 and will have som1 sitting there no doubt (ra). This iwll continue for the first 3 reds. I think when attacking mega from YA side, atleast 2 need wepons, and also the team8s with no weps should also go. unless the team with RA control send 3 or 4 u should be able to take them.

Same as normal, dont take roks/armor etc if u dont have the wep. Dont rush for the armor if teamm8sd are close and u only have 10health, use teamoverlay to see who may need items more.

My thoughts are that if all four players are in control at RA at start, then ignore first quad and concentrate on RA and Mega, no quad guy would ever make it into RA at start, if all four players are there, that way, the team holding RA, could get stocked up on RA, Mega, Rail, plasma and shotgun. Second quad would be owned. First quad guy at start would have nothing more than RL and YA maximum, he would be easy target. It's more important to have RA and mega than first quad at start.

The first quad is always useless, no matter who is playing.

I wouldnt think so. I mean, at first Quad time, if the RA team is more tooled up than YA team, why give the bastards the Quad when you can take it easily?

If the RA team is less tooled up than the YA team, they have to try and take Quad, because if they don't, they will get destroyed when Quad comes through to RA.

I think. Ask Chris.

It is a good point, but for the purpose of the team, we want the lads to stick to whats above.

i think what jays saying will work better, on lan anyway.. its fairly easy to rail the quad guy at the doorways if you KNOW he is coming(remember im talking about lan), and by going for quad from RA, even if you get quad, you can be sure your team will lose their armour while getting it.. if you just stay at RA, you dont really lose armour

maybe we should try this
