| After messing around on the machines, I don't know what everyone's bl33ting about. I tried 3 mice and drivers on 3 (identical) machines, then on the same machine without uninstalling the previous drivers, then on the same machine after installing all drivers except the ones for the mouse i was using.
I tried an Intellimouse with MS Intellipoint 3.20 software, a Logitech pilot with Logitech MouseWare 9.26 and a Boomslang 2k with Razer 2.1.00 drivers. Each driver took about 20 seconds to install, then a reboot (plus like 5 seconds to run ps2rate on the intellimouse).
I then installed the Intellipoint drivers over the Logitech drivers without incident. It felt exactly the same as the intellimouse machine next to it; the MS drivers just took over the Logitech drivers. I then tried installing the Razer drivers over the Logitech and MS drivers, which worked fine.
Then I uninstalled the MS drivers on the intellimouse machine and installed the Logitech MouseWare. Again, this caused no problems. I tried out the 3 mice with each others drivers as well, and each worked fine with other drivers (except for the boomslang not having proper sensitivity control without its own drivers).
So that leaves me to believe the only problem with people un/installing drivers and mice is the time factor, which is fairly minimal anyway (2 minutes if you know what you're doing?) Since noone is going to give a shit about the FFAs, I think we should at least be able to use our own mice for duels. Also, there are enough PCs to be able to e.g. have some dedicated intellimouse machines and some dedicated logitech ones.
