the cpl have announced the rules for the cpl
holland event from 11. -13. may in loosdrecht, holland:



game version played: quake iii arena v1.27h

game mod played: osp newest release

game mode: tournament

hub3tourney1

ztn3tourney1



timelimit: 15

forced respawn: 5

ztn3tourney1 is a custom map by sten uusvali and almost exact copy of ztn3dm1 except it

it doesnt change the fact that changing the maps from the normal ones is a gay idea, its like playing a qw duel tournament on map muny01 or something

me and nicky played that new map yesterday, once you have any idea of where you are going it seems to be just a big gay run YA-RA map, once one guy gets the run of it that's it. that was the first impression anyhoo

no tourney4?
its probably the most played 1v1 map, why arent they including it?

"ill just design my own map now, as i like none of the maps that came with the game, and my map will have lots of narrow corridors, and laser guns and robots ok? i prefer when people win games because of map knowledge and stupid tricks using FPS bugs"

I heard a while back that they were goin removing t4 but i didnt believe they would actually do it, as for this humpurdogtourney1 - I'm afraid to even download it. T2 is grand. But without t4 its camp camp camp spam spam spam

to use a new version of ztn... the first one had that bug which could potentially destroy a game (and it did destroy one of the games in the last cpl when a guy hid there for about a minute and a half).

I haven't played the other map

t2 sucks, everyone knows it. Its a boring, camping level. Whoever's brainwave it was to use these maps should be stood against the wall, and shot by firing squad.

well ztn is a good level, but dropping t4 in favour of t2 is just ridiculous, and then they bring in another map which most people havent played... I dunno.

t2 and t4 should be the only levels played in official tournaments, the rest are shite runny-away-timing type levels

i would be in favour of removing t4 for one reason, i might on some off chance be able to beat podgeen. look in the qualifiers surely we should use the levels that the cpl even will use

1. I will get practise on them for holland when i win the qualifier

2. some ner levels might make this qualifying more interesting i.e ppl wont have all these practised shots etc on the new level learnt off (i hope)

t2 aint all that bad, you just have to know when to run and when to be aggressive, and when to introduce bio members to southill tactics outside the event centre

I agree completely sonic, it would be great to start afresh on a new level, where everyone didnt know all the shots. Unfortunately, IMHO hubtourney3 is a terrible, terrible level, easily the worst duel level ever. Its so boring and pointless. A nice, small level, with no rail is what is needed. I'm sure there are some good ones out there, the cpl just didnt bother looking. Looking forward to seeing southill tactics also.

get RA - leg it to YA via a few weapons, run back to RA and shoot the other guy on your way. this map has loads of weapons (2 RL's) so even if you're losing, u will always have a good weapon and armour is readily available as well. i prefer it to dm6tmp for duels definitley - and at least you don't need a perfect rail like u do on t4.
