i think i've just about had enough with irish quake.... a tense environment where enjoying a simple game isn't possible. no, i don't think the game has anything to do with "irish quake", it's about personality clashes, old bones to pick etc... i remember being an outsider and looking in (when i was a quake2'er) and seeing this kind of beheaviour ... and it hasn't changed much and i never thought i'd get dragged into it.
i'm ashamed to have tried my best to contribute to things like the iq3cl,the ctf team, quake.ie etc.. ... i'm gonna just distant myself from it from now on. it's such a small crappy scene to cause so much grief and fightin ... it's this sorta attitude that's ruined it and made the scene smaller and smaller, with more and more people leaving while other countries like the uk have tons and tons of clans and leagues and a buzzing scene... instead irish quake has grown inwards to the point where you could count the regular players using 1 hand.
ideally i'd like to be able to just distant bio from it and say - irish quake has lost another clan, i'd love to say that but there will be people in bio who won't want to leave the scene so - i won't stop them. but when it comes to bio participating in any leagues or competitions i'll do my damndest to keep us out of them.
finally a word of thanks to the people and clans (there's quite a few of them) that have been sound and have made it worthwhile like acid,ps,hat. i'd hope we'd still play ps,acid, hat in friendly wars because there are sound people still involved in the scene but when it comes to the others... anyway, i won't be updating here again, or be seen in #quake.ie again.
