| well, after mounths of complaining to my teammates, friends, folks, reletives, dog and some ppl i met down the pub about my sucky below 30 fps, its all over.
my amazing tecky coloured pc, (which also makes tea and sez "i love u" on command) has arived. getting an increidable 285.4 fps in timedemo (1.17 vinnila).
so whats the diffrance then?
granted, my movment is a lot better but rl/plasma/ssg aim ect seems the same. rail aim however is a totally diff story, i'm hitting about 3 times more shots to what i used to.
from playing rv (a.k.a 4k) in ctf with bio last nite i've realised just how much the fps increase is going to change my game.
we did'nd have a good team out for it, mike, skelt and jedi did'nd show, and up against players like vorv and q50 we got hammered.
first game i played my usual "rely on rl" sorta game. did'nd do to well. we had played a praccy against another clan previous to this game, and had been fairly shocked by the amount of rails i was landing.
so i thought for the second game try holding mid with rail and see if i could repeat the performance. to my suprise, i did.
i've always beem total pants with rg, even on lan cos i was never used to the fps increase. seeing that rail is the "big weapon" does this mean i'm gonna have to completly change my style of play to rely on rg rather then rl?
i learned to play q3 on 30 fps, had (for a time) been playing with 60-90, now with 125 solid i'm i diff player. mg and shaft (tracking) aim have improved dramaticaly also.
i've only been playing q3 on it for a few days, and tbh am still not totally used to it. but it just goes to show hom much fps can effect a player.
