according to razer, the only place you can get these mice is from http://www.gameplay.com/. but, they don't have any in stock and they don't know when they're getting them again. anyone know anywhere in ireland that sells 'em?

If your prepared to get one and send it back, wait for a repalcement, send it back, wait for another replacment ect ect

And in a few months you'll be the proud owner of a full funtional boomslag

I bought a 1k from gameplay, they charged something crazy like £20 for delivery, the mouse is shit, utterly rough, and inaccurate, razer were supposed to send me a replacement. They said they would, I emailed them about 2 months ago and they said they were backordered, I emailed them about 3 weeks ago, and the fucking email bounced. If you read thecpl.com , you will see that the company, karna, are in financial difficulty. I don't wonder why. My advice: avoid like the plague.

Every 1k I've ever used has been dodgy, but my 2k, which I got from gameplay, works like a dream. They seem to only stock a few at a time, so if the website says they're out of stock, it's usually only a few days before they get more in.

I swear I read a news piece not more than a few weeks ago stating that Razer had found an official supplier for the UK. Can't for the life of me remember who it was though :/

I'm using an intellimouse/wheel at the moment and I was perfectly happy with it, but it's starting to go awry -- hence my interest in a new mouse. I vaguely remember reading that the 2K (versus the 1k) was way too sensitive and it was difficult to compensate for this even with /sensitivity and the bs2k driver settings. Maybe I'll just swop my iffy mouse for a new one in work -- nobody will notice

Forget about my earlier post. After months waiting, I recieved a new mouse today. A boomslang 2k, and I didnt even have to send the old one back. This mouse is amazing. Worth the cash in my opinion, but then again I only paid for a 1k. Its incredibly smooth and accurate. Its not too sensitive, you just have to install the razer drivers, set the sensitivity to 3, and up your q3 sensitivity slightly. I'll be used to it in a few days. Already I notice its very smooth, and precise. Tis class.

Well, first of all you can get used to a higher sensitivity, but I also used to use an intellimouse, and I have it set up so the sensitivity feels exactly the same between the boomslang and intelli (with the boomslang being smoother).

And phil sees the light! It took me about a week to get used to the movement and shape of the mouse, after that there's no looking back.

I was worried that I'd never get used to my new mouse. It's so different from my logitech one. The whole mouse is flatter and so is a pain to play with. I'm sure that once I get used to it it will feel just like an extension of my hand.

How do I get my "little finger" button to do something in q3 when I've already got "thumb button" set to MOUSE3?

Easy way is to bind the button (button 5 in the razer configuration) to a key, e.g. q, then bind q to whatever in quake3. E.g. I have my thumb button set to q in the razer yoke, and q bound to rail in q3, and the little finger button bound to 0, and 0 bound to a teamsay bind in q3.
