Illkillya James Galvin Entering a world of pain clan : fish heads posts : 892 site administrator ive donated to quake.ie! theres a new irish isp supporting 128k isdn, called elive free. its a local number, same type of thing as ocean. its giving great ping for modemers. the isdn seems ok, its definitely worth keeping in mind when all the other isp's go bad (which is happening a lot lately). you can find your local number on the elive site. no signup necessary... does anyone know about this dialup? is it unison with a different name or what? thanks to saik for pointing it out anyway.

23/01/2002 #1 M1ke Michael Breen posts : 288 elive actually routes identically to barrysworld as eircom and indigo do. Giving the same shyte connection. It is slightly better though and isn't as overloaded as either eircom or indigo .... which have lately been giving buckets of packetloss. You can except a lot less packetloss from elive. However when/if eircom and indigo route back to normal they'll be the better choice because elive takes extra hops to BW and pings about 15 more generally..... ive been talking with biff about fixing the isp situation, and he's going to get onto eircom. Ill email the team.ie list with details of whats going on soon.
