| here's a funny one. going back when quake3 came out over a year or so ago, i started playing it and for months, i was pretty good at it too. i was also playing counter-strike at the time, but as i started to get good at q3, i dropped cs and focused on q3. strange tho, as i progressed, i found myself, firstly getting bored with q3 and secondly, my peformances were gradually getting shittier. no matter how much praccy i seemed to put in, i didn't really seem to make much of a difference.
a few weeks ago, i started to play cs (again) and other games like black and white for a change. every week came the barrysworld league and alot of ctf games. here's the thing. i found that i had got really good at q3 again and if i really concentrated on my game, i would out-peform most players in a team game. whats that all about?
so i had a think about it and i realised because i have played other games, when i went to play q3, my complete focus was on the game at hand, hence doing so well! i can't believe i am only realising this after six years or so of on-line gaming. on further thought, if i was to make cs my main game, i would think playing q3 aswell would heighten the l33t skillz, etc. i wonder tho, how many of you would have similar experiences?
