| just come from playing a dm a few minutes ago on a demon.uk dm1-4 server and who should pop his head in and start cleaning up? our very own sujoy roy. fraglimit was 50 and he was typically hitting it in about 4-5 minutes (but hey, they're small maps ) and ending the round in a statement like "well played all", or "you all played good" -- kind of condescending -- but hey he's one of those quad-gods. now, the question i ask myself is: how long before someone gives him some shit? 5,6 7 minutes? it was only 10 minutes -- just at the end of the second full game he played. now fair enough, a bit of constructive abuse like "aimbot" or "cheater" or whatever might have made sense, but no, all that was elicited from "*tony*montana*" was "tosser". sujoy's reaction was "who?" and the response was "you". now, we've all been reading about the total lack of hf (have fun) type attitude of late -- of late? who am i kidding; it's always like that -- ppl seem to think they're competing on live tv or some shit, as soon as more than two spectators appear they'll insist on their favourite map (usually t4) just so as to try to wipe your face in it. now, if someone gets abusive, i just ignore them; but what did sujoy do? he just simply said "i'm going -- there's no respect here." and he promptly left. my question is, when was there ever respect [in q3]? in a game full of cranky, acne laced mentally unhinged, socially inept 12-16 year olds with serious real-world inferiority complexes that invert themselves once they get online -- imo that demographic fits the q3 generation far more than it ever did the q1 crowd and i challenge you to prove me wrong -- should sujoy have left, or simply ignored the comment as we all do? did he feel he was "punishing" the players by leaving? was he genuinely upset? it's difficult to judge. comments?
