I'm GOD posts : 37 ok tis ... 8:48 in the morning got a long boring day of work ahead of me . any way i'm meaning to try and actually start work on another lan party down here during the summer. but trying to pick the time is the hard part. and the usually venue down here is sweet i've gotta admit now that 24hr access is possible... but due to a fudge up with security last time ... have to do some arguing with them now. last one had a low turn-out bank holiday week end seems everybody decided to go off with their families for the weekend... and exams too. bah damn students. best thing is even though it was small scale got a lot of things sorted out such as the switch works like a dream and i can actually crimp cables . i'm trying to sort out the next lan part time though. late june july or even august. i just need to find out if mp is planning a room101 during the summer... could always have one down here . thankfully too i've been able to actually get around most of the costs too so looks like might not even be a door fee for the next one. only think i have to *aquire* is some nice cat5 cable. have cat6 thanks to sonic ... but it's a pain to crimp cause it's so tough and that damn plastic cored centre too. unfortunately boards.ie is blocked at work and no netconn or my gaff so only get on boards about once or twice during the week when i visit my parents house. i'm not in the mood to walk into the university 24hr labs ... the kind of weirdos in there they don't even use the mouse playing quake .... freaks. got my arse kicked too actually at quake no suprise there ... i've never claimed to be even descent just have played in ages. must start playing quake more often and the safe with starcraft. maybe osiris has homeworld or total annihilation . anyway must get off to my little big office and sit down and fall asleep ... and oh yes block the door so nobody can disturb me. anyway another rant... any ideas on time for a lan? next bank holiday is in june i think but i don't get that off til end of the month and people seem to go all family on bank hols... vote for prop 64 outlaw families!

It came from where you work but not got your name on that sticker on the side Did have 24hr access in the SU, but some problems afterwards with security ... no biggies. Might have a Lan but it would be end of June really ... and I'd have to get more interest, doesn't seem to be much really. probably going to try and buy a box of Cat5 if there is another lan on anyway. it's much easier to crimp than cat6. lord

29/05/2002 09:06 #10 anonymous Yup still having it ... 24hr was there was Fort Fragg 2, just didn't use it cause of the low turn out ... unfortunately at work I can't go to boards.ie the IT dept have it blocked . but Fort Fragg 3 is a go ahead. I need to secure something with the final booking ... taking care of those next tues with the University, also we'll probably have rooms if people want to drop out for a kip some time . I've put the reg up on Room101.org hopefully can get a good turn out... also trying to arrange net coverage if possible... webcam and stuff... might arrange an IRC proxy too. lord
