a shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes.
how can you say a shark is not a fish? it is not a reptile, an amphibian, a mammal or a bird, but you still insist that it isn't a fish just because it is so different to the most fish.
- shark eggs are fertilized in female's body, producing small numbers of large young, unlike most fish which lay huge numbers of tiny eggs that are fertilised in the water.
- sharks can only swim forwards, while most fish swim forwards and backwards.
- there are no covers on their gill slits as there are on those of normal fish.
- they have rough, sandpaper-like skin unlike the usual slippery, overlapping scales.
- crucially (so you say...) sharks sink when they stop swimming because they lack a swim bladder that bony fish have.
- definitively, they have no bones.
the fact is, sharks are fish, but not bony fishes, they are cartilaginous fish (chondrichthyes). they belong to the order selachii, and along with skates and rays (order batoidii), they make up a separate class of fishes known as elasmobranchii.
2 sharks in a tank, one says: "how do u drive this thing?!"
