i'm pissed off at this... 1 week before it is due to take place and i have to cancelled it...
yesterday got word that there was a problem with security so i pulled a sicky to sort that out then to find that was just the tip of the ice-burg.

room bookings getting screwed up among other things.

but it appears it has to be cancelled i know it's really short notice but i don't want to risk running any longer and canceling the day before it is supposed to be on.

i'm really sorry to everybody who took time off to come and who were looking forward to it. it promised to be great with a good turn out and some descent games too.

i'm really sorry again, with the low turn out at the last ones... maybe it's an omen.

It's a long winded story. I've been to them 4 time (not including yesterday) to confirm booking. and each time a new problem arose they had advised me the rooms were mine when those problems were sorted out which yesterday they all had been and then this Block Booking came up for somebody else who appearantly booked ages ago.

Gerry You've seen that building I tried to get another one of the large rooms unfortunately it was booked from 11 - 2 on saturday .... which would involve getting all the computers out before 11 and bringing them back in at 2 and that room would just about fit 20 peeps.

I also had been on the phone yesterday to several other departments in the University here trying to get a room in the main campus building. I also had a few other guys running around for me too and the C&S development officer helping me too. but I could not get an confirmed or even slightly positive reply from them and I didn't want to keep trying and have to say it's cancelled the day before hand.

Most of you don't seem to relise that it's a students union they treat student bookings like crap.
