| yes i am.
around 18 months ago i had a column up here, but at that stage i was in one of my 'i'm giving up quake' phases. i think pressure of the upcoming exams were a part of it along with pressure from the g/f. i felt that if i couldn't play as much as i wanted or needed to to stay as good as i was, then i might as well throw the towel in; so i did.
with that all behind me now, exams finished and g/f moved back to cork, i have much more time on my hands to spend playing q3, starcraft, aoe2, gta3 and whatever else. that's why i now have my column back and can spend a bit of time ranting.
so what am i up to now? (just in case anyone cares)
well i am working for a company called datamate developing instant messaging solutions for the corporate market. (yes that's a pre-programmed 'line' i have practiced and spout if anyone ever asks me). i'm just programming in c/c++ etc. if you are really interested either in us or in wasting time while at work, you can check out our website here.

i'm living around the corner from zero, bunny, gman and a few others, but will shortly be moving in with them. lots more gaming on the way. as it is i call over as often as possible to play games. i recently sold my pc to buy a laptop so that it would be simple to just 'pop over' and play there, but now that i'll actually be in the house full time, i'm wondering why i bought the laptop in the first place. (i'm such a gay sometimes). nevertheless, things could be worse.
with work (bare with me), i have to travel to los angeles roughly ever quarter for 'collaboration' etc. but the last time i was over there i managed to get them(the other programmers) all hooked on quake3. now the play freeze tag the whole time, and are even trying to justify buying a frame relay t1 so that they can host a couple of servers! i don't think any work gets done over there!!!
also, while i as over there i bumped into jedi on one of the servers.... he just sees my name, and says 'jeff is that you?'. i fucking nearly fell off the chair! i mean wtf was he doing over there, on the same server out of hundreds. such a coincidence. it turns out he is over there working full time in new mexico.
well i think i am running of steam here. i can't think of much more to say, except: it's great to be back...
and...i can't wait for the next lan.
