MindPhuck Eric Mooney Im drinking stuff donated to quake.ie clan : n8z posts : 1267 site owner yesterday saw my clan hatstand play in the savage super sunday cup. it was a bit of a farce to be honest. early in the day, the topic of the #savage.q3 channel was 'league called off due to lack of admins', then all of a sudden, it was 'games on!'. what kind of organisation is that? our first game, we played pr which was a great game. our 2nd game, was a different story. we played potzw who beat us convincingly. played. check this out tho - 1) the team we were to play suddenly got changed to potzw with no explanation by the admins 2) the map was changed to what was agreed and the explaination by the admin was 'tuf, shut up and play' 3) the admin started cheering on potzw in open message mode when they capped and even after potzw and we complained he kept it up 4) the admin gave us (the players) abuse about this, that and the other during the game! with all this going on, and even after the game and we 'tried' to talk to the sav admins, we got nowhere. i've played in countless leagues and matches and never once has an admin being so biased or unfriendly towards us. later on, we had an open discussion about this and decided that we would no longer compete in any savage shit leagues. its not the first time we have noticed this going on and probably wont be the last, however, we won't be part of it anyway. good luck savage.

18/06/2001 #2 Crusader James Eavis posts : 91 After the fiasco that was the quarter final vs POTZW (who played well and were good sports), we've pretty much decided that savage stuff isn't worth our time. Who needs to give up an evening to be told their games are postponed (for the 2nd time in 2 weeks), and then about 15 minutes before the first games were due to start, suddenly the games are back on. Then the game we had to play was on a different map to the one that had been billed for the last 2 weeks (3wctf2 instead of 3wcp2), on a server that was lagging every 30 seconds or so, with connections that (for me at least) were losing 30% of their packets, with an admin who was at first overly eager to get the game going (to the point that our last player had connected about 5s or so before the game went live), meaning we had 0 time to organise ourselves since we'd come direct from our previous game stopping in irc only to see who we were playing and on which server. The admin (LJ I think it was) got progressively open with his support for POTZW, and then engaged in slanging matches with our players when this was brought up. All in all a waste of our time, and those of the other players who were shafted by savage.
