when you go home to watch a football game on the tv.  there you are, sitting on
your couch, popcorn and beer in hand, feet up, all ready to watch the game.  the game
is between, say, england and spain.  the match starts and the camera switches between
players for the first few minutes and then stays on david beckham.  even when he
doesn't have the ball, its on beckham and your going wtf?..  all sorts of weird and
wonderful angles of beckhams arse, shoes, hair, etc.  granted, he gets the ball a
fair bit, but when he get knocks down, or looses control of the ball, the camera doesn't
switch to the other team.  the spanish midfielder gets the ball and it switches to a
different camera man and you get to see some action, but as soon as possession of the ball
is lost, the camera man switches back to beckham.  so you begin to wonder wtf, is the
camera man asleep?  you start bitching to your mates who are watching with you.
  noo... he's not asleep, he's just biased and wants to watch his favourite player
all the time!   you turn off the tv and go out.

eurocup 5 happened over the weekend and the weekend prior, was lan arena 7.
   the gtv coverage was excellent and i was pleasantly surprised to find that
there was hardly any laggieness on the gtv servers.  good job admins.  one thing
i have to add is your choice of gtv admin/ camera man.   now, i wont take away
from some of them, because they did a great job and fair play, but your job on the server,
switching from player pov to player pov could have been made pretty much redundant with
two simple server variables.  cg_followpowerup and cg_followkiller.  these are
osp variables and should be turned on or voted in the game server, not the gtv server.
  it's not the gtv cam people who have control of this, but more the people who run
the servers.  

what they do is rather simple - cg_followpowerup - switches camera pov to the powerup
item which has just been picked up.  great for maps with one or two powerups, like
dm14tmp.  it switches to the place where all the action is going on and you get to
see that cool quad run..

cg_followkiller - when your looking at a players pov and they die, this command
switches to the person who just killed them.  its great for various reasons.
  firstly, if the camera pov is still on them when they respawn, depending on the
game type, tdm/ctf, etc.. you could find yourself looking at the same guy getting spawned
raped over and over or spend 1-2 minutes looking at him while he farts around the map
getting tooled up.. all the while the action is taking place elsewhere.  with this
option turned on, you get to see the guy who killed him, how much health he had, etc..
  more importantly, the guy who's doing the killing is usually the guy you want to
watch anyway!  which is probably the becham of the game.   i could go on
here, but i'm sure you get the picture.

it doesn't take a minute to fix cg_followkiller on the server, cg_followpowerup is
normally on.  plus as a gtv cam admin, you just have to make sure the gtv is
connected and then sit there and enjoy the game yourself.   so pretty please,
with sugar on top, fix the fucking servers and put cg_followpowerup and cg_followkiller to
