| I never play games for the graphics, the first thing most people I know do, is turn them all off, cos like kyro said it avoids us having to part with our hard earned cash in a rat race for hardware. Besides, look at Doom and Quake, still two of the best games ever written, and the graphics in both of them are shite, and what ever graphics are left over, the players just turn them off.
Lets face it, this game has just got the Doom name to boost sales. It's just a good marketing ploy, and there will be a lot of 10 and 12 year olds out there with this game high up on their christmas list.
Sadly games companies write games to make money, not to please a bunch of nerdlingers like us. The game will be a one off 'experience' thing, where the first few levels are brilliant, and after that they will become boring, like in quake2... all of a sudden the developers realise that they're short on time so the last levels (or stages or missions or whatever you want to call them) are always shite in comparison to the first few.
