MindPhuck Eric Mooney Im drinking stuff donated to quake.ie clan : n8z posts : 1267 site owner heres a letter i wrote to the cpl. hi guys, i would like to start this off by saying a big thanks to edward and angel over the years for letting me be part of the cpl. however, i would like to say that i am now resigning my position from the cpl as the contact for ireland. i feel that there is a few things that has made me do so. this is mainly because of mis-management from cpl europe relating to the irish qualifying centres. i feel if they did not screw up in the first place, there would not be such a mess with netcafe's fighting over who gets what and where and i'm stuck in the middle trying to be mediator for it. secondly, the original deal that was struck with nethouse that they had exclusive rights to cpl events has just been pushed to the side regardless. edward states that he made the deal with me and i say nethouse get to be the qualifying centre. regardless of this, dnc, seem to be able to flex their muscles and walk right by the organization structure of myself, edward watson and go directly to cpl europe and still be able to secure themselves as a qualifying centre. not only did dnc do this once (through no fault of their own i must add), but they were allowed to do this twice. with no explanation from cpl europe what-so-ever. now, it seems that any owl irish cafe can just simply and completely ignore what 'authority' i'm supposed to have as the cpl representative and just mail/post any information for cpl rules, qualifying centres, etc, by-passing me and just go directly to cpl europe. people seem to have no respect for the efforts and work that i have achieved for the cpl here. i am not a pro nethouse and a hate dnc person, (regardless of what other people may think), i just do what i feel is the right thing and what is in the interest of irish gaming. i do feel that nethouse have been really unfairly treated in this situation.. twice. i am an individual person, representing the cpl here in ireland, the amount of people mailing me, messaging me, getting information, phoning me is unreal. i do this on my own time. i do this without getting paid by anyone. and i have done so gladly. but i will not/ cannot continue allowing myself to be walked all over and also loose nights of sleep, fall out with friends and have people in ireland have the wrong impression of me because of someone else's miscommunication. so it is with a heavy heart, that i resign my position within the cpl. should you wish to appoint someone from ireland, i suggest you think long and hard about their status within the irish gaming community and re-look at the structure and commication system within the cpl. yours sincerly. eric.

Also how u deal with bold boys but any way I feel u have been ove-looked authority looks like the Irish better start flying over to the UK Crash0r

I was confused to hear DnC got the spot after hearing elseways. This is a real shame. But I'm going to refrain from dissing, flamming, or any other biased crap against cafes... 15/07/2001 #8 DaBounca will posts : 13 :( now there wont be anyone to shout at people in the cpl qualifier. there isnt really anyone who wouldnt be a bit biased suitable for the job. i think. maybe someone like quozl, but hes kinda affiliated with dnc. dont think the event will be as organised and smooth without your help Mp.

15/07/2001 #9 anonymous Gah, this is bad, espically so close to the cpl quals. I didnt know that nethouse had it and lost it. I thought they were just the quake side. :( On the next in line vote we really cant have somebody who is in anyway related to a team or a cafe which puts us in a bad situation. PHB

Rentz - thanks for the vote of confidance but I dont see that as being the best solution. PHB - There is no real point in talking about who is the next in line for a vote because its irrelevant. Aside from the fact that this isnt a democoracy, the way the whole "system" is set up atm is the problem, not the person who was trying to run it. I for one am going do my best to try to help sort this sh!t out, as I cant think of anyone who is more capable of doing the job than Eric.

15/07/2001 #11 nobby Matt Suddock posts : 11 This is silly, the CPL aren't doing themselves any favors by sidelining and now loosing their contact in Ireland. If more people now have to go to the UK to compete in qualifiers actually getting to the CPL becomes a finacial matter rather than 'who has the best skills'. Sponsorship within online gaming isn't yet mature enough to provide up and coming players with help, so Irish online gaming as a whole and the CPL will loose out by a reduction in the quality of players coming from Ireland to compete.

15/07/2001 #12 anonymous Between Nethouse and dnc there will be sponsorship for the best players to travel to cpl events. Imo the business that offers the most to the gamers in ways of travel, prize money etc should be the business that gets to run the cpl in ireland. Telgere

16/07/2001 #13 anonymous Erik, I am very saddened by this turn of events, you have been a great champion for online gaming in Ireland over a long period of time. I really regret what has come to pass here and hope that this may not be your final decision. As I have told you already DNC have always acted honestly and in good faith in all these matters. As for who takes over, well good question really and I am not in the unbiased position to make a call on it. meglome

16/07/2001 #15 anonymous Soz for the delay in reply, missed this 1. Sorry to see you go m8, we all know what its like to try and work with muppets, and it can get tiresome, very tiresome. There is nobody to replace u which is a great pity imo. When you have to combine experience, age, reliability and unbias I draw a blank at the thought. Meglome, Verifyor, Quozl, Koopa, Mills, Kaids, Osiris, Shadow, Gambler, myself (lol?) all fall way short on at least one count :( Especially when you add into the mix the fact that the CPL guys will prolly want to approach some1 they know themselves I have a funny feeling we are gonna end up with a bad, bad decision being made.
