| yes, i'm here to moan again. last bw season, i had a 200 ping from my office to bw, and we are sitting on a t3. the reason was bad routing, so we got a socks set up on the ign servers and went through there instead. but one of the heanet routers (the network we are on) was dodgy, so our 50 ping was littered with vicious spikes, enemies teleporting around levels etc etc.
now the routing has changed, and i can dos-ping the bw servers with a solid 30-35. connect in quake3 and its 48, with sounds deadly, but, yes theres always a but with nd, we are now being routed through tiscali.net in amsterdam which has a really really shit connection to barrysworld, so the same spikes are back again.
we used to have two people playing from my office, now nobody can, but we can stick two in jays office on a 30 ping. or at least we could until last week, and now that's suddenly gone to shit. he shares his connection with a bunch of porn-hounds in an office complex so his connect is dependant on how many people are in the building.
so, last night, our best 4 online included koopa and overlord on 100ping isdn lines and bunny playing from jay's office with gammy porn-hound spikes on it. there is no justice.
on a lighter note, we played 2 wars this week after losing to ug last week, and pulled 3 points out of it. we played lost on wednesday night, winning narrowly on prodm6 and raping them on ospdm6, so much so that they accused us of using the ogc bot. koopa's plasma gun must have proved too much for them, they actually stopped the game and made the admin check all the stats etc. i think the admin must be used to them going on with all that shit though, because he checked and didn't find anything wrong and just got on with it. so we pulled 2 pts from lost and went to play nv last night in our postponed game.
nv took cpm4 off us by a pretty good margin, part of our problem was connects but more of it was that they were actually pretty good on cpm4. we took dm14tmp by only about 7 or 8 kills, but considering the number of quads and bs's that the lads won off them, it should have been a much safer game, the margin should have been bigger.
i dunno, we can't really do much on these connections, ser is actually the only one with a decent connect, and he's new to a lot of the maps. we entered bw this time round intending on taking the title, we thought limerick's adsl would be out our way by now etc etc but it's not. so we have a choice of dropping out or staying in and giving it what we can, which is what we'll do i suppose. we aren't too badly off, table-wise atm, sitting in 5th place, 2 points behind leader but that's a hard 2 points to get. i think i'm finished whinging now.
